Studying Film Studies
A degree program in film studies will introduce you to the entertainment industry: from its history and theory to the technology and implementation of films and television programs. This field of study will either focus on the entirety of a production or on specific areas such as technology.
Film studies combines both theoretical foundations and practical skills. On the one hand, you’ll gain knowledge of media and film studies as well as film history and theory. On the other hand, you’ll learn how productions are planned, shot, and edited.
In this field of study, you’ll typically carry out your own projects during your studies and record short films with your fellow students. This will allow you to deepen your knowledge and learn more about the organizational aspects of filmmaking, such as creating a budget, staying on schedule, or marketing.

With a degree in film studies, you’ll be qualified to take on a variety of jobs in the media industry, depending on your interests and skills: for example, you’ll be qualified to work for production companies, media and advertising companies, cultural organizations and in journalism.
You can find work writing scripts, producing music for films, operating a camera, or ensuring optimal lighting on set. You’ll also be prepared for organizing productions.
