As an oral surgeon, you’ll specialize in treating injuries and diseases of the teeth, mouth, and jaw. This may include misaligned teeth, inflammations, jaw fractures, and tumors in the jaw area. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing diseases and performing surgical treatments.
Utilizing technologies such as X-rays and magnetic resonance imaging to examine your patients will be part of your daily work as an oral surgeon. Common procedures include surgical tooth extractions, complex wisdom tooth operations, and implant insertions. You’ll work closely with dentists and other medical professionals.
