As an actor, you’ll perform on stage, in movies, TV series, or another form of media. Your tasks will include memorizing lines and working intensively on developing your character. During rehearsals, you’ll gain insight into the director’s vision and strive to follow their instructions.

The main focus of your role as an actor is to present what you’ve rehearsed, either live in front of an audience or in recordings for film, television, radio plays, or other media formats. Afterwards, your responsibilities may also include promoting the production to the public, for example through interviews.

However, in most cases, you’ll be hired for individual productions, both in theater and in film, television, radio, or advertising. Your exact workplace will depend on the specific production and may include rehearsal rooms, filming locations, or performance stages.
