As a vocalist, you’ll present songs across a diverse range of genres, including pop, classical, jazz, or musicals. You may perform live in front of an audience or record your performances in radio and television studios. In recording studios, you’ll record songs as a solo artist, collaborate with your band or choir, or serve as a back-up singer.

Your responsibilities as a vocalist include regular voice training. Before tackling new pieces of music, you’ll need to learn the lyrics and sheet music thoroughly and rehearse a lot. Additionally, practicing choreography may be an integral part of your role.
