As a judge, you’ll issue rulings in legal disputes, adhering to applicable case law while making independent and impartial decisions. An essential part of your role involves interpreting laws and regulations to determine their correct application to each individual case.
Typically, judges preside over trials, preparing by reviewing evidence and addressing administrative matters in advance. In the courtroom, you’ll manage proceedings and question witnesses and parties involved. Finally, upon concluding the hearing, you'll deliver verdicts and pronounce sentences clearly—both orally and in written form.
