What can you expect from studying Nursing?

Nursing will prepare you to care, support, and supervise ill, elderly, or impaired patients. This field of study will provide you with answers to important questions: how should patients be treated? What means can be used to ensure quality care? To what extent can work processes in day-to-day care be made more efficient and economical?

An interdisciplinary nursing degree program provides a comprehensive foundation: you’ll acquire knowledge in areas such as prevention, psychology, anatomy and physiology. What’s more, you’ll typically learn the basics of business administration and nursing management topics, such as resource and project management.

This field of study combines primarily scientific knowledge and practical skills: you’ll learn how to promote, maintain, and restore the health and independence of people of all ages. You’ll also deepen your social skills to provide your patients with good care at all levels.

When choosing your degree program, you can often specialize in certain areas of application and target groups in nursing: typical degree programs include applied nursing science, intensive care and anesthesia nursing, emergency nursing, nursing, nursing management, gerontology, nursing education and health and nursing sciences.
