To this end, you will acquire knowledge in the fields of political science, economics, law, and cultural studies, often supplemented by language lessons to ensure good communication. Important topics include human rights and development policy.
In this field of study, you will learn to analyze complex international relationships from different perspectives and develop solutions to problems. Through internships and projects, you will typically gain experience in real-world contexts and companies at an early stage.
International studies offers many opportunities for specialization, for example, in certain countries, regions, or languages. You can also focus on individual areas such as economics or law. Typical degree programs in this field of study are often called global studies, international relations, international business studies, comparative and international studies, and international development studies.

With a degree in international studies, you’ll primarily be qualified to work in international companies and organizations. However, you’ll also have many opportunities in a domestic context thanks to your organizational and communication skills. You’ll be qualified to find jobs in finance, marketing, and human resource management, for example.
You’ll also be prepared to work for governmental and international institutions or non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Among other things, you’ll be able to provide advice on global conflicts, develop projects to promote international relations, or raise awareness of issues such as development aid and environmental protection.
