As an urban planner, you’ll create plans for urban living spaces such as public squares, parks, buildings, and transport systems. Your areas of responsibility will include new construction, renovations, monument protection, and the planning of entire neighborhoods. You’ll take into account both functional and ecological aspects, as well as building and planning laws.
In your role as an urban planner, you’ll focus on the needs of all residents and users. At the beginning of a project, you’ll analyze economic, social, and infrastructural objectives and create sketches and models. During the construction phase, you’ll monitor and supervise the projects. You’ll also address many open questions related to modern urban planning research.
