As a traffic planner, you’ll design concepts for transportation systems by analyzing traffic flow data, creating models with traffic simulation software, and planning measures to improve infrastructure. Your goal is to make traffic more efficient, smoother, and safer in the long term.
Your role as a traffic planner will include developing projects to reduce traffic volume, improve traffic flow, and expand local public transport. Naturally, you’ll take road traffic laws and regulations into account. You’ll often be responsible for cost calculations, coordinate with public authorities and private companies, and evaluate project quality upon completion.
