Fields of activity | Energy Manager

As an energy manager, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and optimizing a company's energy consumption. Your tasks will include analyzing current electricity consumption, identifying potential savings, and implementing energy-efficient measures, all while complying with relevant laws and regulations and, where applicable, applying for funding.

A key part of your role as an energy manager will be developing comprehensive energy concepts that also cover energy procurement. For example, you’ll choose suitable energy sources and negotiate with energy suppliers. Alternatively, you may move to the supply side of the energy chain and work in energy purchasing or trading at energy supply companies.

As an energy manager, you’ll work for companies in the energy sector, such as power plants or gasworks. Your expertise will also be in demand at industrial companies with energy-intensive production processes, for example, in the food and beverage industry or metal processing. Additionally, you may develop sustainable energy concepts for clients or projects in consulting or for public authorities.
