Beyond that, the role of a dietologist includes collaborating with medical staff to help select diets suited to patients' clinical conditions. You’ll also recommend preventive measures for diseases such as diabetes or obesity and promote overall health through balanced nutrition, ultimately improving patients’ quality of life.

As a dietologist, you’ll work closely with your patients as well as with medical and nutritional specialists. This means you’ll attend many meetings, but also create nutrition plans and documentation on the computer. Employment opportunities include hospitals, doctors’ offices, retirement and nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities. You can pursue salaried employed or work as a freelance consultant.
