As an archaeologist, you’ll uncover the past by excavating, analyzing, and interpreting artifacts. These excavated objects may include human or animal remains, tools, and other objects. You’ll carefully document these finds and their locations so that you can later reconstruct the excavation sites accurately.

Beyond that, the role of an archaeologist involves dating artifacts and analyzing the historical contexts of past cultures using a variety of methods. Your expertise will also be needed for the preservation and evaluation of finds. Finally, you’ll share your discoveries through publications in academic journals, books, and reports.
