Studying Public Administration

As a field of study, public administration focuses on supporting people in the form of social services and institutions: you’ll be prepared for management tasks in the social sector, for example, in youth and family support or counseling organizations.

Public administration is an interdisciplinary field of study that combines business and social science knowledge, supplemented by political and legal content: you’ll learn how the social system is structured and how social institutions can be organized and optimized. You’ll typically gain practical experience in a variety of areas at an early stage.

If you’d like to learn more about the business management of social enterprises, non-profit organizations, and public sector institutions, you might consider studying public administration. There are several opportunities to specialize further in public administration, for example in certain target groups.
