Occupational Therapy vs. Speech Therapy

Speech therapy is a field of study that focuses on treating people with speech, language, and swallowing difficulties. Students acquire knowledge of medicine, linguistics, and psychology. They learn to diagnose disorders and create individual therapy plans to improve a patients' communication skills. Graduates go on to work, for example, in hospitals, at rehabilitation centers, schools or in their own speech therapy practices.
